Just like the name sounds… you bring an item to the sale and you buy an item from the sale. You could hold this sale in a large hall/ community centre, you could charge a small fee to enter the hall. Not only you are getting free items for sale but you are also gain a door fee too.
Perhaps center the swap around a theme – children’s toys, books, plants, baked goods, craft supplies, etc.
In theory at the end of the Bring and Buy sale there should not be any items left. If there are items left give them to a charity shop.
