There are many young photographers who are extremely talented. It is a difficult career to get started in and to get your name out there. Consider helping a young artist get their work showcased and raise money for your group at the same time….host a family photo shoot event!
-
Find a photographer who would be willing to donate their time in exchange for the publicity. (or work for a small fee)
-
Scout a place that would be a nice backdrop for photos. If it is a nice time of year, consider an outdoor theme, or a church hall with a set would work well. Make sure that this is something that you and the photographer work on together.
-
Decide with the photographer on pricing. I would suggest giving each customer a disc with their photos, and price accordingly: $100 for 40 photos, $200 for 100. The price will also depend on the experience of the photographer. Also discuss if there are extras to charge…for example, the family that wants their unruly dog included may need to pay a little more for the extra time.

And finally, PUBLICIZE, PUBLICIZE, PUBLICIZE!
