Looking for a fun night….and a creative fundraiser? If so, why not have a Frolic…..for Chocoholics!! This can be a very elaborate affair, or a very simple one. This will depend on your budget and your locations. The possibilities are many with this one. Here are a few scenarios, but don’t be afraid to put your own creative spin on any of them. Really all you need are people willing to spend a little money on a good cause….and of course, chocolate:
- Secure a church or community hall. Invite any and all group supporters and friends to bring their favorite chocolate dish. Ask for donations from local business owners and sell raffle tickets for the donated goods and services. You can also have a donation box/can provided. This is an easy one because there is virtually no overhead with the exception of paper products for eating the desserts. You can even ask for a donation for those!…….or consider:
- Advertise you are having Chocolate Contest to local restaurants and bakers. Ask them to donate a chocolate based dessert (s) in exchange for the free advertising. Charge an entry fee or donation for sampling the desserts. Or you could charge by the slice/scoop/piece of the desserts. Ask each person to sample several and vote for their favorite. ….or…..
- Advertise it as a late date night with champagne and chocolate. Make it a fun night, and consider cocktail attire, and later in the evening. Places like Costco or Sams club have excellent and reasonably priced chocolate desserts and champagne. Sell tickets ahead of time, purchase according to attendance and display at whatever location you choose in a elegant display. Ask a creative friend for help with this! For ambiance, place candles around the room, turn on cool music and turn the lights down. Have fun mingling with friends and raise funds for your group at the same time!
