This is a fun and easy fundraising idea, perfect for schools. Hold a hat day wear kids can wear a hat during school for a $1 donation. Encourage kids to get creative with the hats and run a contest for “tallest hat”, “most colorful hat”, “smallest hat”, “best recycled hat”, etc.
To handle the payment, have volunteers take payment as kids arrive at school on the designated day. Once payment is received, the participants receive a stamp on their hand which acts as a pass to wear their hat. Teachers can periodically do a stamp check to make sure kids are paying to participate.
