Kick off community building with a good old-fashioned kickball tournament. Since most people have played it at some time in their lives, it’s easy to get people interested in reviving those childhood memories. Invite families to sign up on teams and offer prizes for the winning team. Some ideas for fundraising at the event include: getting corporate sponsors for each inning, selling t-shirts (also offering sponsorship opportunities), having a raffle and/or silent auction and selling food/drinks.
