Spring is a long awaited EVENT in many parts of the country! It is also a time to have to get out in the yard and prepare it for the upcoming season. This is difficult for many people, some because of age or health problems, and others simply because of limited time. This presents a unique fundraising opportunity for your group, especially if you are raising money for a youth group consisting of older teens. Consider advertising your group’s services for Spring Yard Clean-ups!
Decide on a list of services to be provided such as; flower bed clean up, lawn thatching, trash and animal waste pick up, readying planter beds for new plants, and even spring flower planting. These are all good ideas because they require very little experience on the part of the volunteer. It’s just simple labor!
You will need to determine what and how much your services will be. This will depend on your volunteer base. Distribute the flyers wherever you can, always making sure to make it clear what you are raising funds for. Consider asking your local home improvement centers if they would allow you to pass out the flyers at their location of if they would display it on a bulletin board.
