Here is a creative fundraising idea that will enable you to raise money for your cause while enjoying a cup of coffee & conversation with friends!

Ask a few friends over for coffee and to help your group
Have each person bring a few old cards that they have saved, or any scrapbooking supplies they would like to contribute
Make tags for gift boxes or bags. Box or bag them for sale in sets. Make sure the packaging is pretty, and consider selling 10 tags for 4.99, or whatever price you feel comfortable with, depending on the quality of finished product.

Dollar Daze – Easy Fundraising Idea

I am not a person who commonly carries cash…my kids, bless them, see that my wallet is constantly empty!! However, even I can usually dredge up a dollar! Why not ask for a donation of ONLY a dollar. How easy and un-offensive is it to simply ask for a dollar donation! Most people would have difficulty saying no to that. Even if they have only a quarter or a few dimes, that can add up at an amazing rate. Consider checking to see if local businesses would mind if you put a dollar jar at their counter, or have a jar ready and in plain sight at local events such as games, plays, meetings, etc…

Bonus: No overhead, not much fore-thought, and EASY!

Sell Ad Space

Convert your organization’s publications into a money-making fundraiser. Sell advertising space in your monthly newsletter, online updates, and annual reports. This can be a great money maker, or at the very least, cover the cost of putting the publication together.

Offer members, supporters, and donors ad space at a discount. Sell full-page, half-page, quarter-page, and business card size ads. If your publication already prints in color, set a different price for color versus black & white ads. In online publications, charge differently for text links, logos, and banner ads.

To market your publication to advertisers, create a flyer detailing the demongraphics of your audience. Include number of copies printed, number of people on your mailing list, other distribution channels, target age range, percentage of male vs. female subscribers, geographic coverage, and income levels (if known).

Advertisers will love the fact that they can reach a specific market of people interested in a particular cause who actively support it and are able to make financial donations.

Are you looking for a fun yet easy (and cheap) fundraiser for your group? Then why not consider hosting a game night? Secure a location such as a church hall or a community hall. Have several people bring their favorite game such as Chess, Monopoly, Life, Stratego, Checkers, or even video games. Be sure to advertise your fun game night as much as possible. Hang flyers, run ads in local papers and pass the word along.

There are several ways you can decide to raise funds. You can charge an admission fee, ask for donations or have a local business donate something and raffle off a prize. Check with your local activities program and ask them if you could sell concessions at sporting events. If they are resistant, you could even offer to share the proceeds with them. Keep it simple…drinks, snacks and popcorn would be adequate. If you want to up the money, you could consider adding hot dogs or coffee & hot chocolate too. Here is an incredibly easy, yet lucrative fundraising idea. Check with your local supermarket chains. Many of them will allow your group to sell a product in front of their store to raise funds for your cause. Some ideas to consider selling are hot dogs, brats, candy or baked goods.

You may want to consider a holiday theme as well. For instance: if it is Fall, what about caramel apples or hot cider? Or in the Summer months, cold treats such as ice cream or popcicles would be a hit. During football season, brats or nachos would go over well. Be creative in what you decide to sell, and at all times, make it clear what you are raising money for!

Family Movie Night – Fundraising Idea

School and Church Auditoriums make GREAT places to hold a Family-themed movie night, which you will quickly find is a large-scale yet EASY fundraising idea to raise money for your group.

Schedule the event on a Friday night after a blockbuster is due to be released and run it on the projector, before most people have the chance to rent it. Invite kids to wear PJs, bring blankets and comfy stuff and settle in for a fun family night. Sell tickets at the door for $2 a head and sell popcorn & candy. Offer some healthy drinks in addition to soda. And let the show begin!

Have you ever looked around you at a hometown football game and wondered WHO will clean the mess up? Why not offer to do this for a fee to benefit your cause. Go to a local college, high school, sports complex, etc… Explain what your cause is and where the money you are raising will be applied. Ask if they would pay you and members of your group to a do a good job cleaning up and removing the mess after home games or tournaments. Let them know up front what services you will be offering, and make sure you have enough work force to do the job well.
