Dodgeball Tournament – “Fun”draiser

It’s a good idea to think about fundraising opportunities for your group throughout the summer. How about a dodgeball tournament? Dodgeball is a fun game to play AND to watch, so this can really be a great opportunity for your group! (Note: if it’s been a long time since your playground days, the object is pretty simple. Players face off and try to hit each other with a large rubber ball. Last man or woman standing wins! You can also play with teams, and the last player standing wins it for his/her team)

Secure a location. A beach, park or a school will work great!
Decide on a list of rules. For instance, is it against your rules to throw at a persons face, or are you still out even if you catch the ball…
Decide what to charge as an entrance fee. You can charge as a team, or as individuals. Individuals may be easiest because if you play as a team, you will need to provide each team member of the winning team with a prize.
Ask local business owners if they would be willing to donate a gift card or merchandise for the winner(s) in exchange for free “advertising”.
Consider selling concessions as an added way to earn money. Solicit donations for a bake sale, or rent a popcorn machine.
Advertise! This can be a lot of fun, so make sure to capitalize on that fact!

Sponsor a Player – Sports Fundraiser

Sport teams are always looking for new ways to raise money. Too much of the time, fundraising falls on already busy parents. Here is an idea to put it back in the hands of the kids!

Hold a sponsor the player contest. Have each player solicit a list of people who are willing to contribute a pledge amount for games won per season. (or goals scored if you are looking for a smaller time frame) They will also need to take responsibility for collecting the money at the end of the season.

Have the team collectively make a banner with sposors listed to be displayed at each game. This can consist of a homemade banner with poster board, or you can even get an inexpensive sign company to make one….and even donate the sign in exchange for free advertising!

A creative idea to accomplish this is to have each player hold a sign with his/her own sponsors written in big block letters. Take a team photo as well as an individual photo. You can use the team photo on the banner, also making sure that each sponsor is also listed on the banner as well. ( it may be difficult to display the players large enough to see their sponsors)

Have each player use the individual image as a thank you to his/her contributors. The can simply write “Thanks for you help” across a re-print and give to their sponsors after their pledge has been received.

The players will obviously need parents help, but it is a good ideas to have them solicit their own sponsors for this fundraising idea. It’s never too early to lean about responsibility and doing your part to accomplish a common goal!

Hoops for Hope – Creative Fundraiser

Here is a great fundraiser for a basketball team….and also a way to teach the value of giving back to our youth. Have a hoops contest to raise money for a cause. Have the team choose a charity to support, then organize a free throw contest. Have each team member ask for sponsorship depending on how many baskets they make in an allotted time. For instance, in 1 minute period, a person can sponsor a dollar a basket. Make sure that the team makes it clear that they are raising money for a cause.

Baskets for Bucks – Creative Youth Sports Fundraising Idea

Many youth sports groups (and individual athletes) need to raise funds for their groups or to attend a sports camp, etc…. Why not ask the community to support the team or athlete by organizing an event. For instance, if its a basketball team, host a “Baskets for Bucks” night. Have each team member line up their own list of sponsors for each basket they make in a set time frame. Give each team member 1 minute to make as many baskets as they can. Make it a fun time by inviting the community, and play some fun, energetic music. Consider having each athlete choose their own song to make it more individulaized. You can even host a snack bar to raise more funds for your group.

This fundraiser can work for a variety of groups. Consider: Birdies for Bucks, Goals for Cash, Hits for a Cause, etc… Use your imagination!

Dunk for “Dough” Fundraiser

How about some good old fashioned fun for your next fundraiser? Enlist the help of good spirited local “heroes”, celebrities, principals, pastors, etc… Rent (or create) a dunk booth for your next church or school carnival or festival, and sell tickets for the opportunity to dunk your favorite!

This idea can also be a great sports fundraiser. Get the school athletes, cheerleaders & coaches to be the dunkees! You could easily profit over $1000 in 5 nights. This fundraising event can be alot of fun for everyone!

Home Game Haul Away – Fundraiser

Here is an easy & creative fundraiser to advertise in your community…

Have you ever looked around you at a hometown football game and wondered WHO will clean the mess up? Why not offer to do this for a fee to benefit your cause. Go to a local college, high school, sports complex, etc… Explain what your cause is and where the money you are raising will be applied. Ask if they would pay you and members of your group to a do a good job cleaning up and removing the mess after home games or tournaments. Let them know up front what services you will be offering, and make sure you have enough work force to do the job well.
