To set up the location on fundraising day, station one person at the entrance to the drive thru lane, another to flag each car that has made their donation by inserting an index card beneath the windshield wiper, and two to do the actual cleaning with a long-armed squeegee and bucket of cleaning solution.

Be sure to have this planned so each person knows their function, and switch positions every half hour or so. Take pains to ensure there is no delay to the drive through service. Do not block menus, work quickly and thank each driver whether they contribute or not.

If you’re doing this as part of a youth group fundraiser, it may be easier to visit the homes of people you know. They will be less skeptical and more willing to help out your cause.
